In 2017, the company’s 1,300-square foot stand-alone building made its final transition to Net Zero Energy when its gas forced- air HVAC system was replaced by a heat pump mini-split system. The gas meter was removed, and the company’s 20 kW of solar PV not only heats, cools and powers the building, but also powers four EVs owned by its agents and provides free EV charging to the public in its parking lot.  The company’s bill from utility Xcel Energy each month never exceeds the $10.26 cost of being connected to the electric grid.  Super-insulation,  highly efficient windows, and daylighting with four sun tunnels are other sustainable features.
